Daragh,

Glad to hear you are going. Hopefully I will get to see some of what I am missing through your camera lens. I am going to see Pat McManus in Rush tonight so I won't be completly deprived of great music this weekend.

For everyone who is going I hope you enjoy Horslips and if someone could post a setlist that would be much appreciated.

John

John R,

Please do keep rambling because I for one enjoy reading these rambles and memories. I was only 9 in 1970 and it was the late 70s before I ever got to go to any gigs so I love hearing about these early gigs from people who were there.

Thanks,

John

ps. Looking forward to hearing about the first time you observed 'gobbing' at a gig . . . .

Forgot the link above. Here it is. There is a listen back link on this but not sure how long before it is available since the show is still on until 16.30.

Managed to listen, it was just an interview, history of the band and getting back together stuff. Well worth a listen if you get a chance, Newstalk normally provide podcasts of shows. No mention of any upcoming gigs so gaffa tape going back on now.

CORRECTION

The Moncrieff Show is live from Knockranny House Hotel in Westport so maybe they are only talking about the Festival.

I think I'll use some of Mark's gaffa tape now . . .

It was suggested to me when I posted the Ticketmaster links last week that the announcement was premature. However I suspect it is going to made official in the next few minutes because Jim & Barry are going to be on the Moncrieff show on Newstalk in about 5 minutes. Strangely enough the Moncrieff show today is coming from Castlebar.
Streaming media is blocked here in work so I am going to have to sneak out to my car. Here is a link to what is coming up on the Moncrieff show and for those who can there should be a listen live link somehwere on the page.

Since Youtube is blocked in work and Thursday night is my football night, I had to wait until about 10.30 last night before I could look at your videos Daragh. Brilliant quality as usual and well worth waiting for.

Lovely poster Mark. I even saw my own 1979 stadium ticket amongst the tickets on the bottom right.
(BTW Molly got Charles to add his signature to it on Sunday night for me so it has now been signed by all five of the lads and is on its way back to me at the moment).

Hope you are feeling better and look after yourself.

Pity nobody took that security nazi woman out to the merchandising tent and pointed out several of the multiple photo credits from recent Horslips albums for Daragh & Paul.

I hope you are going to share that photo with us so that I can see whether or not I did meet some of you without knowing who you were. (Not Taff55, I spotted the Lipricons on the T Shirt and introduced myself so I know I met you).

Minor aggro but problem was the security guy who kept Johnny & Charles out of focus in my Sword of Light video.

It was a great night in Ballyshannon last night despite a bit of aggro in crowd behind me that resulted in some security guys having to stand right in shot of some of these videos. Here are foure videos from last night for anyone who didn't get there. Nice to meet a couple of fantasia members I hadn't met before, taff55 & balor. I may have met others as well but not known who you were.

I was just browsing on Ticketmaster and clicked Horslips on my favourites list and a new gig for Mayo on Sunday 5th August popped up. It says it is in the Royal Theatre and Event Centre in Mayo. I haven't heard anything about this but ticketmaster seems to say tickets have been available since 22nd May.

Has anyone else heard about this gig ?

Hi,

When I met some of the guys at the Kiss for Jed premiere I took the opportunity to ask Locky Jim who would be on the drums at Ballyshannon. He told me it would be former Devlins drummer Sean Devitt. At the time I didn't check whether I could share that with people or not but have just got the green light from Jim to do so today.

I believe that the Celtic Woman tour finishes in mid June so I think Ray will be back for Westport.

Looking forward to Sunday & might even see some of you there.

The nch.ie site is now fixed and can take bookings for either Saturday or Sunday. I have now got a Saturday ticket to go with my Sunday ones.
