Hi StenfanF

That's a still taken from an RTE program that I only saw fairly recently, and due to age and other factors, I can't remember!! I know they asked Johnny what he thought of country music, he said it was not for him.

When the fog clears I will update the details.

The poster is the work of Donal Fean himself, a graphics wizard.

Just heard that Johnny will be guesting with Los Paradiso in Dublin Saturday March 24th.

For anyone that doesn't know Los Paradiso is Johnny's brother Donal's band with James Delaney (keys) Ed Deane (guitar) Garvan Gallagher (bass) and Kevin Malone (drums) they have had a Wednesday night residency in the Leeson Lounge for over three years and recently release their debut album. It's always a great night as I am sure this will be with Johnny added to the bill, and it's a Saturday night too for all those that have to get up for work on Thursdays!

Guessing from what little we can see of the second word it's Red Rooster, but it was not played on the night.

OMG, that's what happens when you copy and paste in a hurry, I didn't write the original blurb. Of course Johnny is still Horslips.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Just checked back on the FB post and the event poster and the text is correct, so someone else must have noticed too... just not me. Doh!

Mad to have missed this, never heard a peep about it - I suppose that's the first downside I have experienced since I started giving FB a wide berth.

Anyone who has attended any of the Horslips events of the last 10 years or so has surely met Stephen Matthews, it was his 50th recently and this gig is partly to celebrate that too, so there is even a special edition of the poster.

I would be great to see you there...

Apologies for not passing on Birthday greetings yesterday, I was more interested in the dog. Good to see you are recovering well.

A little of the audio from this gig is available below. Johnny did Red House for the first time in 40 years! I recorded it with a zoom from the table so it's not great, but well worth capturing.

Hope you enjoy:

After another great night in JJ's Johnny is back in Dublin again in April. This time it's the Johnny Fean Band, Johnny with Steve Travers on bass and Blendi Krasniqi on drums. This is a craicing trio as anyone was at the Belfast Empire a few weeks ago will know.

A new location this time too, The Leeson Lounge, Leeson Street, Dublin 2, a great pub with a tradition for live music. Free admission.

It would be great to see some of you there.

PS. For FB fans this event will be created tonight and I will issue invites from there too.

Johnny plays JJ's on Friday with Noel Bridgeman and John Quearney on drums and bass as usual and special guest JAmes Delaney on keyboards. It will be a great night if you are around town.

Whatever you did you didn't damage your sense of humour, fair play. Look after yourself and hopefully the dog was not too traumatised.

Brendan beat me to it! I had a hand in arranging this gig, but unfortunately I also booked myself to be in the UK that weekend so I can't make it. Should be a great night though.

Details of a Dublin gig with Johnny for March 18th will follow shortly.

And all other Yuletide greetings to the readers. Very quiet around here recently. Hopefully we may get something to shout about in 2016.
