if you have an iphone, facetime is much easier. You teleconference but I will have to take another peek at the operating system.

Taff is there a chat room equivalent? Live chat would be best and for those of us over here we would no doubt be continually stopping the conversation and asking what it was you just said or could you say that again please but more slowly !

There is free software called Zoom which one can download, install. I have a meeting code and if we can agree on a time and date I can provide the code. I don't know much more than that about the software. I have not yet looked into it, its functionality, but it may be useful. My wife told me about it today as she and some friends from across Canada will be using it to chat tomorrow.

Since the vast majority of us seem to be stuck at home, why don't we do a daily posting of any number of topics.

Local goings-on that may be of interest to those not residing in your area. Some tidbit only to be found where you live.

Favourite Horslips related story or story on how you came to discover for the first time, an artist or band that you came to be a fan of.

An accidental happening which resulted in good fortune coming your way which set you on a new course.

A couple of posts each a week would make this message board a beacon.

anything not related to the current world shite show.

It would be great if there was a media outlet to arrange live chats so we could all join in the conversation in real time. Maybe the lads could chip in as well. Even those of us on this side of the pond could be here earlier in the day if the originating chat was early evening in Ireland and other places in Europe.

Hope everyone is keeping safe and healthy.

Peace.

Someone sniffed this out and sent it to me. It should be required viewing during these difficult times.

Sounds like a good idea John, will try to do it. Quite easy for self-isolation here the past few days. -18 to-28C with a lot of snow. I fed a few deer out my back door yesterday. When it gets cold and their food is covered in snow they wander through the neighbourhood eating whatever shrubs and tree branches they can.

Muscle Shoals shares in that mystique and the local indigenous peoples have stories about the singing river. Some have said the spirits have helped to make Muschle Shoals Recording Studio's what they are, by imbuing those who work there with that same spirit.

It must be disappointing to see the shows cancelled. Over here they have cancelled pro hockey, pro soccer, pro basketball seasons although soccer might resume in 30 days if the warm weather helps to curb the spread of the virus. Smart move though. Would hate the boys to get sick.

Now I am retired I have the time to pursue writing again. The link below is for an online retailer who will be publishing articles on music and records I have written. This is the first one. By no means are they exhaustive pieces but just surface scratching-keeping them light.

This is going from bad to worse, and maybe this is Gods way of saying I should have not retired. I first had to postpone my trip to Dublin because of surgery and now our trip to France and Italy will not happen. I am not so much concerned about missing Italy but France, well, they tend to walk off the job a lot and I don't want to find myself stuck on a train somewhere with no place to go, or even a way to get there. I can get the virus here just as easily but at least I am home and not having to pay to self-quarantine. So I thought Iceland sounded like a nice safe haven but they have almost as many cases as Canada and we are much bigger area wise and certainly with a much lower population density so like the rest of the world plans are being put on hold for the time being.

Hope the shows happen and they are so outstanding the band will want to repeat them once all this quiets down.

good thing he did not have a meccano set so he could disassemble a bridge and throw it at you. Or he would stand at one end of the Steel(eye) Span and perform Robbery with violins.

The National Hockey League has a long tradition of having the home team provide a third goalie to whatever team, home or the visitors requires one. In this case, Carolina Hurricanes had both goalies injured during the game so the call went out to the Zamboni driver, the guy who cleans the ice, to get his equipment on and get ready to play. These goalies have some experience and regularly practise with their team, in this instance, the Toronto Maple Leafs. So dressed in Maple Leaf equipment except for the game jersey he was out there playing for the opposition who needed to win the game to keep their playoff hopes alive, he played half the game. He was scored on with the first two shots and then held the Leafs scoreless the remainder of the game. The highest level he ever played was Junior B which is two leagues below the best junior hockey in Canada. He is 42 years old, father of three who also had a kidney transplant. Amazing story. The video link is below. The National Hockey League is the equivalent of the Premiere League in football - the best league in the world.

Your story seems a bit farfetched. I forwarded a link to her for her reaction. If you no longer post here, I was wrong. Sorry in advance just in case. Her picture may be deceiving but on the whole wicked might just be a good thing!
