Sorry you won't make it this year Don. Hopefully I'll see you again further on up the road. . .

Good luck with the surgery but I think you have had more than enough practice in getting over knee surgeries so it won't be a problem for you.

Happy New Year everyone,I am just back from Derry where a Horslips banner still adorns the entrance to St. Columbs Hall advertising the gigs on 14th & 15th March.

Don, looking forward to meeting you again and StefanF, I love the story from Eamonn, especially being accompanied by the actual cartoon itself.

Unfortunate news this week that the exhibition is not going ahead in Derry but looking forward to the two gigs and I will also be in the Olympia on 17th March.

Best wishes for 2020 to all on fantasia, contributors and lurkers alike.

Hope to see many of you in Derry in March.

Hi,

Horslips played two great gigs at the Seamus Ennis Arts Centre in The Naul, Co. Dublin on 23rd and 24th August 2019.
Jim Lockhart, Barry Devlin, Johnny Fean were joined by Ray Fean on drums. Fiach Moriarty played support on the Friday, Paul Bolger played support on the Saturday and Paddy Goodwin joined them for the encore on Saturday.

One video from Saturday night. . .

Back from holidays and finally got my photos from the 2018 Horslips Con uploaded on FB.

Unfortunately the usual option to copy a link to the album so it can be shared with non FB users is not there any more so you might need to find me on FB to see them.

Here is a link to the photos from the Clones Horslips gig that should get you as far as my photo albums where you will find on called "Horslips Con 2018 - Belfast"

Getting close now. Looking forward to this. Under pressure from Taff55 to get my photos from the last CON up on FB. I'll be back home from hols on Sunday so might get a chance on Bank Holiday Monday. They are not really worth waiting for, my battery ran out (too many Belfast Black Taxi Tour mural photos & Crumlin Jail Tour photos) so for some of the gig my camera was sitting plugged into a wall socket while I + 1, RVR & Ronnie who posts occasionally enjoyed the gig.
Still not sure (and looking unlikely to) if I can make the second night. I need to be in work at 7.00 on Monday morning.
Hope to see some of you there.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. From the book launch event of Mark Cunningham's Horslips biography, Tall Tales five years ago, here is the first ever public performance of this most appropriate Horslips song for the day that is in it.

Stefanf,

Actually that was a bit of an incomplete song title typo there, it is actually called Mount Street Bridge.

Yes StefenF,

I couldn't resist the temptation of a Sunday afternoon gig a bus and Luas ride away. Really enjoyable evening. Fiach played mainly his own stuff with a couple of nice covers (Golden Brown and A Pair of Brown Eyes were two I remember) and when Jim joined him we got Trouble with just acoustic guitar and flute and Dearg Doom with acoustic guitar and whistle plus a couple more of Fiach's own songs.

Fiach has written some lovely songs and one in particular called Mount Street which he performed with Jim is gorgeous to listen to even though it covers the attack on the Sherwood Foresters at Mount St. Bridge in 1916.

I was impressed enough to buy his two CDs which were on sale at the gig. Had a good chat with Jim afterwards. The boys are off to New York in about 10 days for the gig with Paul Muldoon which apparently is sold out now.

Great find StefanF,

I was there and did manage to video Trouble but haven't got around to doing anything with it yet. Now I don't need to as we have a broadcast quality version here. I might still get to it one of these days.

Thanks for posting this.

Hi,

Some photos from the charity gig in Adamsons's Bar in Clones last night organised by Paddy Goodwin and featuring four members of Horslips. Great to see Charles back on stage.

Hi,

Don & I did indeed meet up and spent a very enjoyable couple of hours chatting about all sorts.

Horslips may have been mentioned once or twice as was football and Whiskey and Whisky.

Will attempt to attach a photo.

Don,
I have no specific plans for either tonight or tomorrow night (Sat & Sun). While I am on the other side of the city I actually grew up not far from where you are staying and I play my winter five a side football in Terenure college. Happy to call over to the Terenure Inn for one tonight or tomorrow night or if you have plans to be elsewhere could meet up somewhere else. Let me know what suits.
