Here it is, the big official announcement (finally)

The formula this year will be slightly different to previous years, as you can see there is an email address, the idea being you send an email, requesting the number of tickets you require, you will then receive an email on how to purchase tickets.
There is a limited number of tickets, obviously due to venue size, and this poster has been distributed elsewhere, with requests already coming in, so get your email in fast because once tickets are gone, they're gone, doesn't matter who you are, who you know, how long you're a fan or what you're prepared to do! Harsh, but such is life.

Venue: Dublin

Hope to see you all there!

And as always, the disclaimer;
This is an event organised by fans, for fans.
Organisers - Niall Goode and Brendan McLoughlin

Fair play to ye boys agin.

I sweat me hole off for ye that night.

All together:

"Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide on, seeeeeeeeeeeeeee u"

Not so sure ifin I can get Decky to come. Fucker still has a chip on the shaulder over 'Heeeeeeeeeeeey Mirinda!'

Hafta go azy on him tho - be fucked without him, don't ya know. Nice guy. Hoor of a guitarist. Not a patch on the garsun that eventually replaced him. Some 13 year old....name escapes me.........Jerry Quinnn...no....Tony Liam.....John Lean...something like that.

I hope to see that spoofer Devlin there. Fecker promised to do my patio there last yeatr and the hoor never showed up. Hear he has built a mansion on Dalkey Avenue with a pick and a shovel in honour of Cristie Hennessy.

Respect!

Well! If Christy Moore is gonna be there, I gotta try. God knows Bono's been sniffing around for an invite.

Sincerely: Horslypse is a remarkable band, even if you didn't have any familiarity with their inspiration in Horslips. Ryan O'Sullivan, Conor McAloon, Danny McCormack and Niall Moore are phenomenally 'in-tune' musicians and some of Conor's own original instrumental compositions are really stunning. (Check 'em out on MySpace). And when we all first heard John Kelly's vocals back in April 2005, I think I'm not the only one who felt the hairs standing up her neck.

I've never seen the whole band in action, but I listened to them once when they performed at the Drogheda Exhibition of Horslips. (Thanks Brendan! Hope the cellphone recovered.) And Ryan once gathered up a smaller group for a great afternoon house concert followed by a totally excellent jam at McGurks in Omagh.

For the chance to hear Horslypse in their full power and glory of summer break, it is worth contacting themanwhobuiltamerica@live.ie today.

So I wrote back to Bono and said "Hey buddy, you got fingers. Type that email up and ask 'em yourself."

Just got a great note from the Horslips Admin drawing my attention to this thread. (He knows I'm like totally the major Christy Moore fan and all...)

And, as long as I'm drawing attention to that, I wanted to give a big thanks to Aidan Curran of Irishrockers.com (as mentioned in the current Hot Press) who upgraded my posting of the TMWBA Party poster to a fullscale General Discussion thread (I put it in the promos & plugs forum out of shyness...). Stop by and visit Aidan's site which has really added a number of great features and interactive services.

I had no idea Barry McCabe went on the USA tour with the band! If he comes to the party in August (he says he's gonna try), someone's got to get him to tell the story about Roxy Music that he says is "not fit for public consumption."

He mentions The Tubes too! Now that's a flashback for me!

There was only just an announcement from the Official Site on Tuesday, May 13, so I, along with everyone else, have good hopes and send best vibes here.

And if my heart is already broken by the news that one whose mere name (not to mention his deep, seductive voice and skillful wordplay) sets my thighs aquiver will not be there, I hope that fate will be kind and ensure that many other good friends will.

Just a quick note to let you all know, there has been a massive response to this announcement and the question that keeps coming up in the few emails that I read was "Did my request get through?"
Yes they are all coming through and yes you will get a response in the next few weeks with more details.

Niall, I misread the date of the event, and am unable to attend as I will be sunning myslef in Queensland. So when you make the decision over who gets a ticket, take my name out of the reckoning. If I do win the lottery, give mine to Nats or Lee.

Donnacha! Such gallantry does your proud family name credit indeed! But it is true, as I say above, your absence at this (or any possible event where we might meet) will always be keenly missed by me.

This is it boys and girls, the final word on TMWBA 30.

Due to various reasons there had to be date changes, line up changes, etc. But it is now sorted and finalised.

The date is now Saturday 20th September,
The venue, The Madison in Rathmines

Tickets wont be required, but obviously the earlier you get there, the better.

Hope to see you all there!

The original date clashed with a festival up in Monaghan that Blind Boy Goodwin and his merry chums were involved in. We fussed and bothered about moving/going ahead/putting it back/bringing it forward etc.

Hopefully the new date will suit all cos we want all to be there. Dave McG and Myles will do the (Risky) Business and I stress that they may do one or two Horslips number but they ARE NOT any class of a tribute band.

Sandwiches, raffle for Crumlin Childrens' hospital, t-shirts and, hopefully, an auld come-all-ya, will be the order of the day.

Anyone got Paul Hewson's email/mobile cos he did express an interest in coming. Perhaps he is launching another attack on the world around that time with the new album "Misery and the Dubs"

As a thought if anyone here can't make the party on Sep 20 why not 'shoot' a small video clip saying 'hello' or suchlike, burn it onto a dvd and post to me and we will play the greeting over the 'big screen' on the night for all and sundry to witness.

Now we don't want any Cecil B DeMille productions - keep any message under, say, a minute - making sure you let the great unwashed know who you are (inc Guestbook user name).

In a recent interview President Bush was asked what he thought of the whole Man Who Built America 30th Anniversary party, and what he thought of the album when it first came out.

As we all know he is a man of few words and as the old saying goes actions speak louder....

Thankfully I was able to remove Georges 'white wabbit' glove puppet just in time or it would have been more embarrasing for the band than the spontaneously self combusting fire breathing celtic dragons that Charles once made!

Ahem...by the way, what time can we come to the party and what is the cover charge at the door and will there be any Strange Days versions to buy and blackmail people into signing..? I'm still not sure if I can make it (it's a long story that involves a large stupid dog, structural damage and a plague of locusts diguising themselves as children) but I've got my canoe out ready just in case the world doesn't get sucked into a black hole the size of a pin head tomorrow when the brits start their 'inter stella (yes thats Stella as in the lager cos believe me they'll need a few to get the courage up for this one)sub nuclear photon tinkering oh whoops where's the world gone'experiment...despite their mathematical weaknesses they clam there is only a one percent chance that we'll all be playing sardines tomorrow (though there is also a rumour that they dropped two noughts from there calculations to get it past the government)..
Anyway, any more specifics on the party would be greatly appreciated ( especialy by my children who are currently practising their strokes while being chained to the canoe at gunpoint).
