Thanks for the "kind" words lads. However you forgot to mention that I was the good looking one in the photo!

I am very excited that we are now only 9 days away from the premiere of "Dusk"....Cu Chulainn and Eamon Carr...a combination that's hard to beat! The most excited I have been since the Odyssey reunion show...erm....in a musical way, I hasten to add!

Great to see Eamon receiving some well deserved limelight. A lovely man.

I well remember after a Host gig at Queens in 1985, being introduced to Eamon by Terry Hooley. I spent the next hour talking Celtic Mythology and music with Eamon. I mentioned that I was a big Peter Hamill/Van Der Graaf Generator fan. Eamon told me that he had met him at Rockfield Studios in 1973/4 at the time of Dancehall Sweethearts, but had not heard his music. We agreed to swap tapes (ancient recording medium, kids), I would record "Fool's Mate" and "Still life" for Eamon and he would record "Endeavour to Persevere" - The Barricudas for me. I gave the tape to Terry H to pass to Eamon and that was the last I heard. I sometimes wonder if Eamon ever received it? Knowing Terry, probably not.

I met Eamon again briefly at the Horslips Exhibition in Belfast and he was as charming and funny as ever.

Roll on the 6th October!

Here's a link to RTE player - start 36 mins in..

http://www.rte.ie/radio/radioplayer/r ... F1526%5F27%2D09%2D2016%5F

or
https://t.co/qOyIv0oLbX

for an interview on RTE Arena with Dusk's Eamon Carr and Garrett Lombard and Denis Conway.

The link takes about a minute to fully load and connect.

Below is just a photo ... don't try to get audio from it.
It's Sean Rocks in the photo , but Jim Lockhart sometimes presents it.

Thanks for posting that link StefanF...how we wish we could be there for DUSK. Garrett's voice is great as the Ghost of CuChulainn. Eamon has cer"tain"ly created a venue for these actors to show their talent. Sounds like a brilliant production! Best to all involved & to the lucky folks in the audience. Sláinte

For those who funded Dusk here is a message about your rewards:

Hi everyone,

I'm just checking in to let everyone know that we will be notifying everyone
by email over the next few days of their rewards and how to collect them.

Funders who are expecting tickets for the GPO will be notified tomorrow by
email with details of the event.

Thanks a million again for all your support. This brilliant project wouldn't
be happening without you.

If any of you are interested you can listen in to last nights interview with
Eamon Carr and Denis Conway on last nights Arena programme on RTE Radio 1.
Scroll forward to 36 mins on the programme for the interview which also
includes Garrett Lombard reciting a piece from the play!

http://www.rte.ie/radio1/arena/

Thanks a million everyone and see you soon.

Andy.

Go to http://fundit.ie/project/activity/dusk to see all this Project's
updates.

Hi Mad's here's a link to the direct segment Garret sure has a deep voice:-

Mick that's tough about your mum. I wish I had words of advice, but I don't. Would it mean anything for her to see "Mick Opfar" on the Dusk programme? I'll get one to you. There are a good number of silent folk here who wont get to Dublin but need one.

A big thanks to Stefan for the tip off about this fantastic event. I almost missed it, but delighted now to have flights, hotel and tickets booked.

I see there are going to be celebrities present on 6th. Surely the Insider at RTE will be amongst them?

Very nice Hugh. Missing it by three days. I had booked my flights into and out of London prior to the event being announced so returning home to Calgary tomorrow. Missed the Stawbs in Cardiff by three days as well. Not my luck this time and the Strawbs tour is only to the maritimes this visit to Canada in October.

Looked everywhere in new and used record shops in London, Cardiff and Bath and found only one Horslips album Dancehall Sweethearts which I have a few of. Disappointed on the Horslips record hunt.

Enjoy the big event.

Nice preview there in the Sunday World, it looks as if the project is really shaping up to be something special.

I suppose there are no plans to tape the performance in the GPO ?......it's such a unique event of cultural significance that it would be a pity to let it go unrecorded.

I wouldn't let down the masses. I will be there......but will I be recognisable as I've had some work done lately....

And so, with the Big Event over (Congratulations to the USA although I thought their celebrations were OTT).

The impossible occurs as I find comfort on a Monday that it is only a few days to the next Big Event... The Unveiling of the "Insider at RTE" at some arty bash in Dublin.

Be still my quivering 'nads.

An Unveiling no less, has he been wearing some sort of religious headgear or what?

The blue team on the above clip looked in a spot of bother until the reinforcements arrived......Teresa May and her crowd I suppose
