Heard an advert for this Culture Night on the radio, thought it might be worth going up to see the lads, but as far as I can make out there seems to be about ten performers for a two hour concert, so obviously the lads stage time must be fairly restricted.

Not too bad , I suppose, there was always going to be severe constraints on time given the number of performers.
RTE news showed a clip of the lads rehearsing, with orchestral backing, on the Six O'clock news.
What happened Locky Jim's wrist ?.....it's currently in a blue fibre-cast, didn't seem to be affecting his flite playing during the brief clip of Trouble.

Jim hurt his thumb area when himself and his push-bike fell out over something.

The bike took a huff and threw him off.

Or he injured it throwing a tv out of the top floor of the Gibson Hotel while Barry was balancing two coke-addled dwarves on either arm while signing 'Drop-kick me Jesus through the goal posts of life'.

Not sure which one to believe......

Wow, signing that song while balancing two dwarves would be difficult. Were they doing a show for a deaf mute cocktail party?

Missed you there John.

I left after the lads......thought the audience were cool towards the first two efforts but Trouble went down well.

Jim's injury from the Gibson Hotel 'incident' didn't seem to faze him..........the show must always go on.

Was wondering the same, was it from The Lament for Art O'Leary seeing as Paul Muldoon was involved ?

yes it was...think they only did a couple of songs after the poem. When I saw then at Seamus Heaney Homeplace they played for an hour after the poem. Going to see them at The Mac in Belfast ...originally was going to see Cantona that night but managed to switch tickets to his other date. Highly recommended as probly the only new music you re likely to hear and very good it is too.

Thanks Taffy, the Mac sounds very tempting, extremely unlikely though that I could make Belfast twice.

They did the same thing in Dublin not so long ago but from what I can gather no-one from here made it.
