Probably brainwashed by Gordon Lightfoots "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" but I had to capture the scene on video while on a hike yesterday just west of the city. This train will be headed into the mountains to BC to offload its cargo of potash destined for China or Australia. Not too far from here the train will begin its journey through the spiral tunnel which is incredible. As the engine exits the tunnel system taking it through the mountains to avoid the steep decline, the end of the train is still visible. these trains can be about 4.5 kms long.

That Potash is destined for China or Australia? A long journey, was the train going East to the or West to the Pacific?
